As part of the BioVal project, Bochum University of Applied Sciences organised a workshop on “Towards Marine Biodiversity Impact Assessment” at the Food LCA Conference 2022. The conference is one of the most important gatherings of global LCA experts focusing on food systems. The experts meet every two years and in 2022 the conference was held in Peru, Lima. The aim of the workshop was to discuss current developments in impact assessment methods for marine biodiversity. In addition to the hurdles that science faces in developing such a method, promising progress and possibilities could also be identified. The results of the workshop are valuable support points for the further development of the methodology in Module 2.
