The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has decided that 17 of the submitted funding applications will continue to be funded within the BioDiWert funding initiative. One of these projects is BioVal – Biodiversity Valuing & Valuation!
We are very pleased that our proposal, which was submitted by the ZNU – Center for Sustainable Leadership at the University of Witten/Herdecke together with the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) at the TU Berlin, the Bochum University of Applied Sciences, FRoSTA AG, Alfred Ritter GmbH & Co.KG and Seeberger GmbH, convinced the reviewers and the BMBF.
The aim of BioVal is to investigate how negative impacts of food production and consumption on biodiversity can be reduced and how they can have positive effects in-stead. BioVal develops solutions to reduce negative impacts on biodiversity from food along the life cycle. Together with companies, the project investigates how they can contribute to the promotion of biodiversity along product life cycles, integrate this into their management and communicate it. Therefore, measures will be developed and tested.
The project will start on 1 November 2022 / 1 December 2022 and will run for three years. It is funded by the BMBF within the framework of socio-ecological research under the funding code 01UT2110A-F.
